Bishop Macdonell CHS Welcomes Guelph Soccer Club Partnership

The Wellington Catholic District School Board is delighted to confirm a partnership with Guelph Soccer Club for the access to the new turf field at Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School starting August 16, 2024. This partnership will support the continuation of youth programming for our community.

“We are excited about the completion of this project and the opportunity to partner with Guelph Soccer.  This partnership will benefit our students, families and the greater community as it allows more access to youth sports and activities” said Tracy McLennan, Wellington Catholic DSB Associate Director.

Guelph Soccer presented a successful Partnership Project Proposal to the Board expressing their interest in using the available Partnership Space at Bishop Macdonell CHS.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Wellington Catholic DSB to make use of the space outside of school hours. It is partnerships such as this that gives us the best opportunity to meet the demand for more soccer in our community,” said David Frizzell, Executive Director, Guelph Soccer Club.

Bishop Macdonell CHS’s sports field was redeveloped from fall 2023 to August 2024 to include a new six-lane polyurethane rubberized running track and full-size artificial turf field.

The new sports field is accessible to use through permits only, interested parties wishing to book the field or track can contact communityuse@wellingtoncdsb.ca. Limited times are available for the field.
