Coach Justin invites you to participate in #SkillsChallenge
Hey Jr Gryphons!
If you’re looking for something soccer-related to do we will be releasing weekly challenges to keep our players sharp during this black-out period. We encourage everyone who’s interested to participate.
Week 1 - Juggling
Who can beat coach Justin at keep-ups?
Take a video of yourself juggling this week and tag us on social media or email Justin.springer@guelphsoccer.ca to participate in this week’s challenge. Anyone is welcome to join in and have fun with this.
Week 2 - Flick Up
Hey Jr Gryphons, here is Week 2 of the Skills Challenge:
How many different ways can you begin juggling? (i.e. flicking or chipping up the ball, or starting with a trick). Share your videos with us by tagging us or emailing us.
In these difficult times it's important to stay connected to your community. That's why we've added a community aspect to our challenge. This week, we challenge you to:
1. Reach out to a friend or family member to see how they are doing.
2. Thank someone for their support of you in your development as a player and person.
3. Help your parents or guardian prepare a meal.
Week 3 - Ball Mastery
We're now in our 3rd week of the skills challenge. Thanks to everyone who has followed along and completed the challenges so far. In week 3 we want to see your ball mastery - dribbling, 1v1 moves, changes of direction and juggling. Complete either the 🥈 or 🥉 base skills competencies this week. Post the video & tag us, or email it to Justin.springer @guelphsoccer.ca
You can find the instructions here: guelphsoccer.ca/base-skills-challenge
Your community challenge is: 30-30-30. Do 30 minutes of soccer, reading, and support (helping others) every day this week.
Week 4 - Trick Shots
🎯 Show us your best at home trick shot.
🗑 Use a bin or hoop, or knock down bottles/cones using your ball.
Share your trick shots with us by tagging us on socials or emailing Justin.springer@guelphsoccer.ca
Check out this video for inspiration.
Your GROW challenge is to write down 3 things your are grateful for each day this week.
Stay safe & stay active,
Coach Justin
