Not-for-Profit Model
Guelph Soccer is a non-profit organization dedicated to community development through the game of soccer. As a non-profit, we ensure a participant-centered approach to development across players, coaches, referees, and our administrative staff. In addition, we aspire to create community partnerships that allow us to provide as close to barrier-free access to the game keeping fees low, offering accessible programming for players of all physical abilities, and adhering to the principles of long-term player development keeping our community members engaged in the game for as long as they choose to participate.
Guelph Soccer is led by a volunteer board of directors and relies on the support of an army of volunteer coaches, team managers, and other support volunteers to provide an affordable soccer experience and welcoming, accessible programming for the Guelph community.
We are a small team of mission-driven staff charged with ensuring good governance and adherence to the standards of our club license, and the rules and regulations of our parent organization district, provincial and federal governing bodies. Staff support the registration, development, and management of the club, as well as recruiting and developing the coaches, referees, and volunteers that run the game in our community.
Community Participation
At Guelph Soccer, we’re committed to providing a positive experience for all members of our community. For our community, this means participating in a safe and fun sporting environment where all are committed to growing as individuals, athletes, officials, and supporters.
We believe that the parents, guardians, and families of our players, coaches, referees, and administrators are vital members of our community. Through ridesharing, active support from the sidelines, participation in fundraising and community partner opportunities, and other key roles in making our community work, you are the glue that holds the community together.
We believe strongly that supporters, parents, and families with access to materials that detail the purpose, premise, and promise of our programing will be committed partners in supporting our values, fun, growth, and learning.
