VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION
Organization: Guelph Soccer
POSITION: House League Program Ambassador
LOCATION: Allocated fields for games and/or practices within in the City of Guelph
GOAL OF THE POSITION: To actively promote the philosophy of the club – To develop a stronger community one goal at a time. Each ambassador will follow the coach code of conduct and be a representative of Guelph Soccer while visiting fields and supporting the house league coaches of the Club.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support coaches on field by sampling drills or pre-game meetings.
Check-in with coaches to determine whether they need more resources, provide suggestions for pre-game practices and online resource links.
Step in when a coach is unavailable or has an unplanned absence.
POSITION BOUNDARIES:
Adhere to the Guelph Soccer Coaches Code of Conduct.
Never be alone with a player.
Not responsible for the transportation of players to and from practices and/or games.
RISK ASSESSMENT LEVEL: Low
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age of 18 years.
Interested in and has knowledge of the game.
Able to use a fair-minded and a sportsperson like approach.
Patience, understanding and a good sense of humour are key.
TIME FRAME: Outdoor (May – Sept) – time commitment of approximately two hours per week. Flexible scheduling.
TRAINING AND SUPERVISION:
Ambassador training is offered by the Club staff.
Support is offered by the General Manager and Technical team.
