Guelph Soccer Club Appoints Alan Koch as New Sporting Manager
Guelph, ON - Guelph Soccer Club is excited to announce the appointment of Alan Koch as the organization’s new Sporting Manager, effective immediately, while continuing in his role as head coach of the Guelph Gryphons Men’s Soccer program. Koch brings an impressive résumé and decades of professional experience to the role, having served as head coach of FC Cincinnati during their historic run in the USL Championship and transition to Major League Soccer.
In his new position, Koch will work alongside Justin Springer, Technical Director, with the club’s technical direction, player development pathways, and long-term sporting strategy. His leadership will play a key role in elevating the Guelph Soccer Club’s profile and driving its continued growth as one of Ontario’s most ambitious and community-focused soccer organizations.

Koch’s coaching career includes stints at the professional level with FC Cincinnati, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, as well as in university and academy systems. He is widely recognized for his tactical acumen, leadership, and commitment to fostering high-performance cultures.
